Ghost, Goblins, Dust Mites and Other Things That Lurk In The Dark

Here is a another cute but informative post by our friends at The Allergy Store.

As usual Cheryl is able to get her point across in a very easy to understand way that makes sense. If your not sure what a dust mite is or how to deal with them take a minute to read her article.

Ever Heard of Mice Mites?

I know a good bit about dust mites. They cause people all sorts of problems but are fairly easy to deal with. As most know a good mattress cover and a couple of other allergy control products and the problem is mostly under control.

Just read this post from Let’s Talk Allergies. Until now I had no idea there was such a thing as Mice Mites. Take a minute and read it.  http://allergy.allergystore.com/2011/08/26/demite-for-mice-mites.aspx

If you live in an area with mice you may have a problem and not know why.

Getting Rid of Dust Mites in The Home

We all know people who have problems with dust mite allergies. In fact there are tons of people out there that don’t know they have a problem but suffer anyway. Here is a pretty good post and quick read from my friends at the Allergy Store.

“After being diagnosed with dust mite allergies customers sometimes feel overwhelmed with the amount of work that needs to be done in the home to start feeling some relief. I always tell customers it’s best to just take things one step at a time, the main focus is getting rid of these dust mites so they no longer bother you.Customers often ask how do I get rid of them? What should I buy?” Read complete post on Getting rid of dust mites.
Tiffany does a good job of laying out what products should be used in the dust mite battle.

Dust Mite Proof Foam Pillows

Sometimes memory foam bedding is being sold as being dust mite proof. Not so.

I have to agree with this post http://dustmiteallergyfacts.com/2011/04/memory-foam-pillows-and-dust-mites/

Over the years I have had people tell me they got a foam mattress because they were told dust mites can’t live on them. While it is true the dust mite can not get down into the middle of a mattress they will live and die on the surface. I’ve yet to talk to anyone who sells the specialized covers that will tell you not to cover the foam products. In some cases the only way to sleep on them is to cover them because some have a very strong chemical odor to them.

I never thought about the chair I sit in but I can see their point. My chair is covered in fabric and I sit in it all day. Guess I should spray it..
